In last night's OHSAA District Semi-Final basketball game, 32 minutes was not enough to determine a winner between the Cardinals and Genoa Comets.

The Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School girls' varsity basketball team got to do something Thursday night that few teams get the chance to do...cut down nets. The Lady Cardinals (16-5, 12-2) hoisted the Toledo Area Athletic Conference trophy for the first time since the 2007-2008 season. In the victory over Northwood, Senior Jami Hardy led all scorers with 22 points. "I don't think there is a better player in our league than Jami," first-year head coach Brad Kuron said. "Her work ethic sets her apart from everyone else."

The Cardinals begin tournament play on February 25th against the winner of Fremont St. Joseph and Hopewell-Loudon.

Bryan Smolinski '89 was recently inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame as a part of the 1996 World Cup team. Linked below is an article about Bryan from the Toledo Blade.

Senior Stephen Johnson qualified for the OHSAA Division III State Tournament last week by shooting a 4-over par 76 at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, OH in the OHSAA District Tournament.
