Friday night's game was not only a sell out, it was an instant classic that many Cardinal fans will never forget. After falling behind at the end of the 1st quarter by the score of 12-8 the Cardinals played much better in the 2nd quarter but still trailed by 2 at the half, 28-26 to the Eagles. The Cardinals gained their moment in the 3rd quarter and took a 38-35 lead into the 4th quarter. In the 4th quarter the game went back and forth with each team taking the lead. With 2:38 to go in the 4th quarter, sophomore Joey Holifield made 2 free-throws to take a one point lead 45-44. Toledo Christian had the last possession of the game and called timeout with 9.4 seconds to play. In the final play of the game, Toledo Christian's guard Trevor Wensink penetrated against junior Little Anderson then attempted a pull-up jumper over Anderson who blocked the shot and sealed the win for the Cardinals. Junior Little Anderson not only made the game winning defensive play but he also led Stritch in scoring with 15 points. Sophomore Joey Holifield scored 9 points, junior Jordan Burton had 8 points and senior Collin Yost chipped in 6 points going 2 for 2 from behind the 3-point arc. The Cardinals improve their record to 14-1 with an 8-0 record in the TAAC.
