News from the Cardinal Cafe

Happy new school year!  We are off and running in the cafeteria.   hope your student has had the opportunity to take advantage of our many offerings, including breakfast, fresh salads and fruit and of course, healthier snack of options.

Joins us for breakfast every day from 7:40 am - 8:00 am.

  • Students $1.50
  • Reduced     30¢

Here are some tidbits to help you better navigate lunch and breakfast:

  • During the month of September, for every 10 breakfasts your student gets they will get a 75¢ credit for the Cardinal Cafe Snack Shop.  The students can get their punch cards from the cashier beginning September 4.

  • All free and reduced applications have been processed and notification letters have gone out.  If you did not receive a notification and you expected to, please contact Sally Finger at 49-693-0465 ext. 227 or email at

All changes in status will take place beginning with the September 13th lunch hours.

If there is a change in your household income or you think you may be able to take advantage of this program applications can be submitted at any time throughout the school year.  A paper application can be obtained from the office.

If your student is on the free or reduced program, please remember that it does not include a second milk or a milk if your child does not buy a lunch.  If your student packs a lunch and wants a milk, there will be a 50¢ charge for that milk.

Your child's lunch account balance is updated daily in PowerSchool.  School policy is only one (1) charge per student.  You can send check or cash in with your student.  PK-6 collects lunch money and it is forwarded to me every morning.  For the older students and those wishing to do so, the money can be added to their lunch account as they go through the breakfast or lunch line.  Mid last year, we added the option of adding money online through the school website.  Just visit and under the "Student Life" tab there is a dropdown menu; click on the "Online Payment for Lunch".  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for the opportunity to get to know your fabulous kids. ~ Sally Finger, Cafeteria Supervisor
