  • Medication Pick Up


If your child takes any medication at school, including inhalers and aerosol treatments, please pick these items up from the nurse's office by the last day of school.  The last day of school is May 24th for elementary students and May 25th for high school students.


School regulations prohibit sending medication home with a student.  If you are unable to pick up your child's medication by the last day, please call the nurse at 419-693-0465 ext. 225 to make other arrangements.  Any medication not picked up will be properly disposed of.  Also if your student will need to take medication next year, please make sure  the proper paperwork is in the office by the first day of school.  Forms may be downloaded from the school website.

 

  • Immunization and Health Requirements 2018-2019

 

Kindergarten and preschool:  All preschool and kindergarten students are required to have a current physical and immunization record on file by the 15th day of school.  Kindergarten students are also required to have a dental exam.

 

Incoming 7th graders:  Incoming 7th graders must have a Tdap booster and meningitis vaccines by the 15th day of school.

 

Incoming Seniors:  Must have 2 meningitis vaccines prior to the 15th day of school.

 

These requirements are mandated by the Ohio Department of Health.  If your student does not meet these requirements they may be excluded from school. Remember doctor's offices get very busy through the month of August.  Plan ahead!

 

  • Tick Season Has Started

 

Ticks are usually found in wooded areas, but can be found in your backyard near the ground too!  They are active all year, but spring, summer, and fall are seasons of high risk.

 

If you find a tick on yourself or a family member remove it at once.  Grasp the tick close to the skin and pull straight out with a pair of tweezers.  Do not squeeze or twist the tick.  Examine the area to make sure all of it is removed and clean the area.

 

Ticks may carry the Lyme disease bacteria.  The infection is usually a rash that begins at the site of the tick bite, anywhere from 3-30 days after the bite.  A distinctive feature of the rash is that is gradually expands over several days and may reach 12 inches across.  The center of the rash may appear clear and as it enlarges will take on the appearance of a bull's eye.

 

Other symptoms may include: Fatigue, chills, fever, headache, muscle and joint aches, and swollen lymph nodes.

Upcoming Exam Schedules


HS/MS Exams

  • May 23 - Exams 1-3 with dismissal at 12:55pm - Cardinal Stritch Bus to run at regular afternoon dismissal time. TARTA, Oregon and Northwood will run at regular afternoon dismissal times.
  • May 24 - Exams 4-5 with dismissal at 11am - Cardinal Stritch Bus to run at 11:15am and at 3:05pm.  TARTA, Oregon and Northwood will run at regular afternoon dismissal times.
  • May 25 - Exams 6-7 with dismissal after locker clean out, Chromebook turn-in and summer reading project received - Cardinal Stritch Bus to run at 11:15am.  No other bus service offered.

Attention Parents,


The Fr. Stites Scholarship application review is currently in process.  Those families that have applied for the scholarship previously will not need to attend a meeting this year, and your application is being reviewed and submitted to the committee for approval.  New families applying for the first time, you will need to attend a meeting with the Finance office to review your application.  Please be on the look out for this meeting invitation.

 

All families who have applied will be contacted as the applications are awarded.  All families received documentation in the mail, and SchoolAdmin will provide the most up to date contract amount for the 18/19 school year.

 

For those families wishing to pay their tuition in full for the 2018-19 school year, the due date for this payment was Friday, May 18, 2018.  Avoid the finance charge by paying your tuition by this date.  Payments are accepted in the school office and through the FACTS payment system available through SchoolAdmin.  Please review and complete your contract, then select your payment option.  Thank you in advance!

 

ITEMS OF NOTE:

  1. Kroger and SCRIP rewards have been applied and contracts are current.
  2. If you are expecting to receive a scholarship or grant, we will not update the contract until that award is received by Cardinal Stritch.  Once received, we will update your contract to reflect the changes and you will need to then re-approve your contract for 2018-19.
  3. FACTS payment plans must be re-enrolled using the link provided through SchoolAdmin, do not go directly to the FACTs website as your information will not carry over.

News from the Cardinal Cafe

 

As we continue to tweak the lunch offerings to be in compliance with federal law, your student may see some differences in the offerings at lunch.

 

We have a new page for the Cardinal Cafe.  Some of the things you can find here are the menu, pricing, daily food options, and the ability to add money to your student's lunch account electronically.

 

Important Dates to Remember:

 

May 22 - Deadline for 8th Grade to settle any unpaid debt in the cafe.

 

May 24 - Deadline to settle all unpaid debt to the cafe.

School Breakfast is Coming!

 

Beginning with the 2018-19 school year, breakfast will be available at school from 7:45am - 8am in the cafeteria.  Breakfast is open to everyone, free and reduced will be free and reduced.

There will be NO afternoon EDP on Thursday, May 24.  Please make sure your balances are paid by Wednesday, May 23.  Thank you!

Academy Fall Sports for 2018-2019

It's not too late to get info for our fall sport programs for next school year!  Any athletes entering grades K-8, there is something for you! CYO Cross Country - Grades K-8

 

Want to run with your friends ad have a blast doing it?  Looking to stay in shape after baseball season and before basketball season starts?

 

Come join the Cardinal Stritch Academy CYO Cross Country team!

 

Practices will be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 5pm beginning Monday July 30th at Pearson Park Lot #9 (Runner's Lot), last lot on the left before park exit.

 

CYO meets are Saturday mornings September 8th thru October 6th.  There are 5 meets.

HS Students and SOS Hour Opportunities

 

Now is the time to start working on your 2018-19 SOS hours!

 

For SOS Hours: Locations and opportunities to get service hours done.

  • Cardinal Stritch:  Many teachers could use volunteers for cleaning, organizing, and other miscellaneous tasks - see Campus Ministry or ask your teacher!
  • Ronald McDonald House: Volunteer anytime doing household chores or cooking meals for the families
  • Little Sisters of the Poor: Volunteer anytime, Bingo nights, spring yard work, visit with the residents, etc.
  • Helping Hands of St. Louis: Cooking and serving meals, sorting and hanging clothing, assisting clients in the food pantry.

Kroger Community Rewards

 

**Fourth Quarter runs from February 1 through April 30.

Each quarter earnings will be replaced with the most recent quarter earnings, so you must print off your earnings quarterly and turn them into the Main Office.  If you do not print off your earnings statement within the time period, you will lose those earnings!  It is to your benefit to print and turn in your earnings with the Kroger Community Rewards Earnings Statement found on the school website or at the Main Office preferably within one week of posting.

 

**Note:  4th Quarter earnings will be applied to the 2019-2020 school year.
