^{What is Cabaret?}

^{Cabaret is a musical theater dinner experience involving live music entertainment!}

^{Cabaret has been an ongoing tradition at Cardinal Stritch and this year is its 18th anniversary!} 

^{Who is to perform at Cabaret?}

^{Cabaret in past years at Cardinal Stritch has strictly involved students from the Cardinal Stritch Music Department, however this year we will be expanding these opportunities to non-music department students in grades 7-12, teachers, staff, and Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School Alumni!}

^{When is Cabaret?}

^{Cabaret will take place Saturday, May 4th at 7:00 P.M. and Sunday, May 5th at 2:00 P.M.}

^{Rehearsals will take place every evening the week leading up to the performance}

^{Where is Cabaret?}

^{Cabaret will take place in the Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School Gymnasium}

^{Why attend Cabaret?}

^{Cabaret also acts as one of the Cardinal Stritch Music Department’s yearly fundraisers. All proceeds of this two night event will go directly towards new equipment and experiences for music students at Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School and Academy..}

^{2024 Cabaret Theme: STRITCH TO THE PAST CABARET}

^{This year the Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School Music Department is looking for a variety of acts including vocal, instrumental, and visual performances varying in size. This year auditions will take place Thursday, March 28th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. within the Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School Gymnasium.}

^{Audition Criteria is as followed:}

• ^{Act must include selections that fall on or between the years 1890-1999. Intend this to be the piece you will perform in the show. (For show purposes, selection could change to fit the theme of the performance, director discretion.)}
• ^{Please keep in mind that this is a school event. Please refrain from performances that involve inappropriate topics or themes. (Drugs, Alcohol, Sexual Themes, Language, Etc.). If you are unsure if your piece is school appropriate, please contact Jacob Shephard ([email protected] ) or Christine Nieves ([email protected] )} 
• ^{Performances must be longer than 1 minute, but no longer than 4 ½  minutes.} 
• ^{Provide sheet music if available and give it to judges when having your scheduled audition. If sheet music is not available, please provide lyrics.}
• ^{A component of Cabaret will include your apparel. Please bring either a picture of the outfit you would like to wear for your performance or wear it to the audition.} 
• ^{If a backtrack is being used, please be sure to email a copy of the audio to Ms. Christine Nieves at [email protected]. You will receive a confirmation email that the backtrack was received by Mr. Nieves. Please do this at least 2 days prior to the audition.}
• ^{If a musical instrument is needed, please be sure to bring all required equipment. (Valve Oil, Reeds, Neck Straps, Etc.)}
• ^{In total, the Music Department is looking to have anywhere between 18-22 acts to be included in Cabaret with varying individuals and ensemble sizes. We are looking to cover a majority of the decades between 1890-1999. Those interested in performing more than one piece should sign up for different audition time slots. With this being said, performers will be limited to no more than 2 solo/ensemble performances. Senior are permitted to have up to 3.}
• ^{Performers that are selected will be expected to attend dress rehearsals the week of Cabaret Thursday and Friday 6:30-9:00. There will also be opportunities every Monday night in April to offer assistance on pieces and to take part in a full  ensemble piece for the finale of the show in the Cardinal Stritch Music Room/Stage. ^{Play in the Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School Combined Band at Cabaret!}

^{The Cardinal Stritch Music Department is also inviting staff and band alumni to join the High School Concert Band ensemble who will also be performing at Cabaret. The Cardinal Stritch Concert Band will be performing a variety of hits from the Broadway genre and are looking for a variety of different instrumentation! *Note* There is no audition required to perform with the High School Concert Band.}

^{Mass band practices will be taking place every Wednesday evening in the Cardinal Stritch Band Room from 6:00-9:00 P.M. throughout April.}
